Hello Subie Ruby

After my Honda Element ‘Fern’ was towed away, I thankfully found Subie Ruby at a dealership in Victoria. I had my daughter Kara with me and thank goodness! She was hard core and able to portray someone who knew a lot about cars. We got her up on a hoist and checked for rust ( especially under the drivers foot mat). The selling moment was when the Geese arrived at the dealership for water as they washed cars. They are daily visitors. In that moment I knew the dealers were friendly.

She is a 2009 Subaru Forester and had relatively low (150,000)klm’s for her year. These were all considerations for me. Her length was longer than fern, which makes for a more comfortable sleep and the sun roof opens fully so I can sleep under the stars. She is not as high, so sitting up to read in bed is not as easy as Fern was, and there is no room for storage under the bed. So I put everything in totes and can store it in front of the back seats. The bonus is I don’t have to take the back seats out, so its an easy transition from camping mode to group road trips. I’ve had a lot of fun naming her and redecorating. I use a pop-up tent for rain protection, shade and a place to store stuff so I can do day trips. I also use the mandala drapes to make a changing area either in the pop up or off the side of the car. I love her Hippie Dippy vibe. She hugs the road beautifully on windy roads making for a sporty ride.
